Maçã d'Adão

"Maçã d'Adão" is the new album by composer, author, choreographer and fado singer Jonas. A project that, in times of conflict and intolerance, celebrates all the cultural richness present in the sounds of Fado. In a sound journey that navigates through influences from the gypsies, Iberians, Moors and Afro-Brazilians, among others, this is a Fado that reaches us in all its worldview, a Fado that draws on its origins and rescues the extinct dance of Fado Batido.

Starting from the first chapter of the Bible - Genesis - all of which is linked to creation, "Maçã d'Adão" also recovers the mystical dimension of fate, in the sacred and the profane, and embraces an idea of destiny, the wheel of fortune and oracles, such as palm reading, cowrie shells or tarot.
