Alberto Cortés & João Gabriel
Alberto Cortés is a director, writer and performer. He graduated in directing and theatre from ESAD in Málaga and in art history from UMA. In 2009, he began his theatrical career by creating a hybrid and peripheral form of theatre, which he has continued to develop over time. Striving to maintain hope in the intangible, the spiritual and the human, his work has developed over the years through a variety of formats and disciplines (theatre, dance, performance, folklore – flamenco). His works treat the stage as a space for romantic desire and the relationship with the audience.
João Gabriel is a Portuguese post-war and contemporary artist. He has a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Arts from ESAD, Caldas da Rainha (PT). His most striking works are the ethereal male nudes suspended in moments of intimacy, which, although absent of sex, depict tender encounters: a kiss, an embrace, or something in between.
